Covering All Your Compressed Gas Needs
How much is the gas compressor price?

The gas compressor is a quite complicated machine. It is a specially designed solution and its price varies.

We shall firstly decide which type of gas compressors shall be the ideal choice based on client’s requirements. Centrifugal gas compressor is suitable for large flow rate @ low or medium working pressure; Piston compressor with quite low initial investment has a very large range of working pressures and flow rates; diaphragm compressor is a good choice for noble gases and poisonous gases because of its high air tightness; oil free screw gas compressor couldn’t discharge a very high working pressure and very large flow rate, because of its working philosophy.

We shall design a gas compressor based on clients’ project details case by case. Information like inlet pressure, discharging pressure, flow rate, driven method, cooling methods, working condition etc will all influence a gas compressor design and its final price.

Other requirements including explosion proof, pipe materials requirements, core parts brands will also have an influence on the gas compressor final price.

Just leave your project information to us. We will design a tailored gas compressor solution specifically for your project.

What is the process of gas compression?

Gas compressor working process is similar to normal air compressor. However, it is more complicated because most gases have a more active chemical property and are easier to have chemical reactions with other substances. So gas compressors internal structures are built to prevent such reactions and leakage.

Let’s detailly check the compression process for a special gas, Methylene Dichloride. Its compression process is quite complicated but its liquid form is a very important organic solvent, widely used in paint removal & coating, pharmaceuticals, metal cleaning & degreasing etc.

Low pressure methylene dichloride vapor will be sucked into the air end after it flows through the inlet filter. Inside the air end, its pressure increases as the screw rotor and star wheels run. Also increased is its temperature. With the water injected, it not only cools down the mixture temperature, but also acts as sealing material and lubricating material. When the gas pressure reaches the designed discharging pressure, it will be discharged and flow to the gas water separator where most cooling water will be separated and relatively dry gas will flow to the next precooler. If some methylene dichloride is still in the gas form, it will be further collected and sent to the air end for compression; but most methylene dichloride will flow to the condenser where it will be condensed into liquid form. Finally, the liquid methylene dichloride will be collected and stored.

What drives a gas compressor?

Comair gas compressors could be driven by diesel engine, electric motor, gas combustion engine.

Electric motor: most of our compressors are driven by electric motors of highest protection grade and energy efficiency. The electric motor used to power our gas compressors are usually of IP55 protection grade and IE4 96% energy efficiency. Electric motor is much more energy efficient than diesel engine or gas combustion engine. In areas where electricity supply is sufficient, we shall firstly consider electric motor driven gas compressors.

Diesel engine: diesel engine could be chosen where there is limited electricity supply on the project site. However, its running cost could be much higher because the thermal efficiency of even the most advanced diesel engine could just be around 50%-55%, far lower than the electric motor efficiency.

Gas engine: Gas Engine or we can also call it Natural Gas Engine. For natural gas enriching countries, especially those African countries where there is limited access to electricity, gas engine driven compressor is a preferred choice. Comair has already supplied many natural gas engine driven gas compressors to the Nigeria market.

Which compressor type uses pistons to compress the gas?

Piston gas compressor uses pistons to compress the gas. The compressing chamber made by cylinder internal wall, cylinder cover and piston top side changes periodically when the piston reciprocating moves happen. The air inlet, air compressing and air discharging make a complete working cycle, which happens due to the piston reciprocating move.

What is boil-off gas compressor?

Boil-off gas compressor is named by its special application. Let’s take natural gas as the example.

For long distance transportation, natural gas as cryogenic liquid is stored in the tank at the temperature of -165℃ or below. However, even slightest temperature rise will lead to natural evaporation of the natural gas, which is called boil-off gas. The compressor used to collect and compress this boil-off gas is called boil-off gas compressor. The compressed boil-off gas is either stored in cylinders again or used as fuel for engines.

What does a flash gas compressor do?

Flash gas compressor is used to compress and collect flash gas. Flash gas is produced when the pressure of their liquid mixture undergoes heating or depressurization. This often happens in oil & gas extraction activities but flash gas poses potential risks to staffs health or neighbouring residents. Moreover, those hydrocarbon flash gas will contribute heavily to the greenhouse effects if released into the atmosphere.
